Blackberry Bold slider launching in June at AT&T
Blackberry OS 6 its finally nearing but going up against the next generation iPhone in June...not a good move BB. We all love our BB's but a new OS that hasn't been tested in the form of a slider against the best selling phone in history, I guess they call this competition, ill advised or not. Hopefully the OS can hold up so I can finally put down my iPhone and go back to my true love the BB. Reports say it will be a June release so we'll see.
While June has usually been strictly roped off as “iPhone month” for AT&T, this year looks like it will be different. A couple of our RIM sources have informed us that the BlackBerry Bold 9800 slider will be making its public debut in June on AT&T. Those dates can slip a bit, but middle to end of June does seem to be what we are hearing. Also, we have confirmed that AT&T has placed an incredibly big order of the new handset, easily exceeding 1,000,000 units. AT&T will have an exclusive on the device (we have not confirmed the length — 3 months, 6 months, etc.) and it will obviously launch with the BlackBerry 6 operating system. If you are a CDMA lover, look for Sprint to get the device in Q4 of this year.
