Imaginary Foundation “The Undivided Mind” Exhibition

I was thinking about going to San Fran just cuz but now I have a reason.

The right side of the brain is responsible for emotions and intuition, the left for logic and reason. Yet the notion of two brains gives rise to the function of one mind. Perhaps it is this one “undivided mind” that presents a way forward through the monumental cultural changes we now face, enabling us to surf this dynamic moment in history from a platform of balance and symmetry. This installation from Imaginary Foundation endeavors to fuse the aesthetic beauty of art and science in order to create a synthesis of mind, one which is as much rational as it is fantastic. In addition, the brand will open a pop-up store for the event, running from November 20th through November 28th, with the show opening Friday, November 19th, 2010. Further information on the show is available here.

Jawbone Jambox Bluetooth speaker now available for $200

It's hardly the most affordable Bluetooth speaker around, but Jawbone's new Jambox did manage to impress us when we got our hands on it earlier this month, and you can now finally pick one up yourself directly from Jawbone, or at your local Apple store and "select" Best Buy stores. As expected, it'll set you back $200, and it's available in your choice of four different colors / designs, each of which pack the same 800mAh lithium-ion battery that promises ten hours of continuous use, a built-in mic that will let you use it as a speakerphone, and an output capacity of 85 decibels that Jawbone says "fills even the largest rooms with stellar hi-fi sound." If you're looking to judge that for yourself, you can apparently do so at an Apple store, where Jawbone says the Jambox will be "featured alongside the iPad."

Tumi 35th Anniversary Collection

Tumi 35th Anniversary Collection

New luggage set anyone? Classic way to celebrate 35.

You might not know it from their typically modern, fabric-sided bags, but Tumi's been in the business for thirty-five years, and it's going back to the basics with the Tumi 35th Anniversary Collection ($300-$800). This original collection of leather bags includes a tote, an expandable duffel, a carry-on garment bag, a backpack, horizontal and vertical crossbodys, and a slim briefcase, all available in sienna and sometimes in traditional black. Classic and classy — just don't expect them to take the abuse of luggage handlers quite like their nylon siblings.

YUKETEN 2010 Fall/Winter Studded Penny Loafer

Penny loafers...minus the penny but just as sharp.

Yuki Matsuda’s YUKETEN places an interesting twist on an Ivy classic with their interpretation of the Penny Loafer. Done in a rich brown leather, the handmade shoes are textbook in their construction and quality. However the model’s greatest detail is a touch of juxtaposition via three large-scale pyramid studs which brings a sort of punk aesthetic to the concept of preppy. Available now at BEAMS

Mercedes-Benz SLK gets Magic Sky Control roof, turns transparent at the touch of a button

Put down those iPads, Mercedes owners, and look to the sky. There's a word of wonder up there and, if you had yourself an SLK with the Magic Sky Control vario-roof, you could be looking at it. Well, of course, you could already be looking at the sky if you had an SLK because, you know, it's a convertible. But, let's say you want to do it without actually having to experience nature. Now we're talking. The vario-roof is a glass panel in the center of the SLK's retractable hardtop and now, if you tick the 2000 euro ($2,800) Magic Sky Control option, you can control that sky, tinting the glass panel at will by re-aligning the light-blocking crystals embedded within. It's like a big pixel on an LCD with the whole sun as your backlight and a truly awful dot pitch.

Table Connect for iPhone

This is cool for no reason...I see a mean game of Pong or Glow Hockey on this.

Sure, showing an image and boasting wildly is one thing, but it's another thing entirely to see something as outlandish as this functioning on video. The gurus behind the Table Connect for iPhone have returned, using a jailbroken iPhone, a dedicated app (for now) and a freshly washed hand to demonstrate what iOS looks like on a 58-inch multitouch table. We've got to say -- for early software, it sure is snappy. Of course, practicality is still in question, but who ever cared about that? Head on past the break and mash play.

Nike 6.0 | D-Pad Session

Skiing and Snowboarding (more so skiing for me) are two of the most fun and most definitely fastest things I've ever done. It's a must! Kids get off your asses put down the D-Pad and get out there! This is one of my favorite videos ever.

Nike 6.0 put together a novel trip in Folgefonna, Norway this summer with the D-Pad Session. Gjermund Bråten, Ethan Morgan, Gerome Mathieu, Ståle Sandbech, Jamie Nicholls, Terje Håkonsen, Jake Blauvelt, Matt Ladley, Mason Aguirre, Eero Ettala, Kevin Bäckström and Erik Botner visualizing themselves as video game characters in an effort to expand each’s personal bag of tricks. The rad edit above is the result.

Zeal Transcend GPS Goggle

Zeal Transcend GPS Goggle

These are a must!!!!

Ski trail smartphone access is great and all, but it's a little hard to look at Google Maps when you're flying down the hillside. The Zeal Transcend GPS Goggle ($400-$500) gets around this problem by mounting a micro LCD display right inside the goggles. In addition to showing real-time GPS data, the screen can also offer feedback like speed, latitude/longitude, altitude, vertical distance travelled, total distance travelled, the temperature, and the time, all on a screen that appears to hang roughly six feet in front of you. Glove-friendly buttons and either a polarized or polarized and photochromic lens round out this alpine offering.
