PUMA Running: Where Future Champions Are Born in Jamaica featuring Usain Bolt

PUMA has long sponsored the Jamaican national team and this commercial shows PUMA running starting from early supporting the culture of track in Jamaica. From the high school to the professional level PUMA is there. I remember from very early Usain Bolt running in Jamaica hearing the stories over here in the states and seeing times that a high schooler shouldn't be running. I remember his visit to Penn Relays (I'll be there in April to see Jamaica and Trinidad dominate as usual) where he didn't run but the hype alone brought crowds from all over. He has lived up to all the hype and I love to see West Indies own the sport.

(FYI Jamaica College is a high school not an actual college in Jamaica)

TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Flying 1000 Concept Watch

TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Flying 1000 Concept Watch

We've heard of concept cars, but concept watches? Apparently they make those too, as evidenced by the TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Flying 1000 Concept Watch ($TBA). The first wrist watch ever to measure and display 1/1,000th of a second, this insane timepiece features a decidedly techy-looking face, a black rubber strap, a black titanium carbide case, and a black ruthenium-treated movement, visible through the crystal on the rear. And, like concept cars, it's not for sale (yet).

Summer is coming...at some point.

Gear up for the warm weather that's — hopefully — coming soon with a pair of Obey x Generic Surplus Shoes ($70). These breathable mesh shoes marry elements of plimsols with those of a boat shoe, and feature metal eyelets, work-style laces, rubber cup soles, and natural, navy, or tobacco uppers.

Harry Winston's Opus Eleven watch: mechanical masterpiece / bank breaker (video)

If you have little more than 250k to spend why not?

It's been a while since we gave Harry Winston's Opus watch any play, but some timepieces are just too lavish to pass up. Case in point: the Opus Eleven, designed by temporal taste-maker Denis Giguet of MCT. Aesthetically speaking, it's probably a touch too steampunk for some, but the way it tells time is straight up fascinating. Giguet points out the movement enlists 566 parts, a good deal of which are exposed in the main face -- the center piece displays the hour, while the upper right disc shows off the minutes. Now, it might look like a relatively minimal watch for Harry Winston, but its case is made of 18k white gold and sapphire crystal, and the Opus Eleven's definitely got a Winston-worthy price tag, ringing in at about $250,000. So if you've got a quarter of a mill just laying around, this is a definite contender for that stack of cash. Want to see all those tiny pieces in action? Check out the video after the break.

Great video, I've only seen the partial on TV so this is the entire commercial.

Incase Sling Pack for DSLR's

detail shot

After profiling The Hundreds Paparazzi Bag I figure I'd throw in the Incase Sling Pack for DSLR's. Solid design and weather resistant nylon make this sling pack a great purchase especially at $80. If you like the cross body strap this is quite nice.

That Backpack is a must if I hit Hong Kong.

Here’s a peek at the latest capsule collection from Head Porter for SILLY THING. Conceived around two years ago, the collection is based on the theme of traveling and includes a Back Pack ($770 USD), Waist Bag ($255 USD), Camera Duffel ($380 USD) and Lens Carrier ($320 USD). Each of the items within the collection was designed with function in mind and all of the pieces (with the exception of the Waist Bag) have been made from scratch. Demonstrating this functionality, the Waist Bag can be easily attached onto the Back Pack and many of the pieces include several compartments for lens, cameras, memory cards, etc. With subtle branding on the shell, the material is the same as used for Head Porter’s BLACK BEAUTY line and the color was specially chosen by TK, Head of SILLY THING.
